 A New World

Life is like a pendulum
day by day the same
Same routines and the same chores
Like a black hole, always miserable and apathetic
yearned for something different but life stayed immutable
the clock began to become rusty
slowly racing to a halt
Time slowed and was lit into perspective
the world twirled inside the black hole
at first it looked star struck and people were confused
all was quiet, people stood still and waited
patiently hoping for change
the black hole began to gargle and choke
slowly it illuminated the starry night
our faces reflected happiness and hope
all in a circle, hands adjoined
we watched as we let the tremendous light
engulf us into a new dimension
trees swayed, and animals squirmed
flickers of light exploded in dance
praying for a new beginning
