Alphabet Poem

Battlefield

Absorbed
By the shadows above
Corpses scattered across
Death's welcoming embrace
Empty
Grasping for last breaths
Hoping for another chance
I feel like flying
Joined by my fallen companions
Kissed by the shrill air
Laughing yet so close
Masking the death
Nice but fake
Only a dream I say
Pinned, locked
Quickly turning black
Rows of sadness
Sleep
Taunting
United by death
Victory bitter but sweet
Wars created by ourselves
X-rays of past generations
Yet,
Zippy to some

  1. What a great alphabet poem. I used to think anything with the word alphabet is juvenile. But definitely not after I've read this.
